Now that I’ve foolishly signed up for the Tierra Bella Century ride, it’s time to prepare. I’m not sure exactly what to expect but one thing for sure is that I need to spend time in the saddle. Today was the first ride with new addition to my cycling geek arsenal: A Garmin Edge 305 GPS biking computer. Pretty nifty device. Contrary to what you’d expect from a GPS device, it does not do much to help you navigate but does a good job at recording where you’ve been, along with other vital stats like heart rate, cadence, speed, altitude, etc… You can even export the data and play it back in Google earth! Here is a preview of this morning 22 miles loop.
