With only about a month left, it’s definitely time to make the best of the nice weather of late. Last week, I was let down by technology. After attempting a firmware upgrade of the Garmin Edge GPS (a respectable geek can’t resist the lure of upgrades), it refused to turn itself on. Many reset did not help revive it. I was very distress at the thought of not being able to log my training routes. Once you get use to riding with that device, it’s almost like becoming a collector of sort. I have the urge to collect those GPS coordinate points and other vital data and catalog them for posterity.
Fortunatly, Garming tech support rocks. I called them and got them to ship a replacement unit overnight. I got it the next day, before they even received the defective unit I sent back. Wow! Thank you Kim G., you made my day :)
I’ve incorporated a bit more climbing in this loop. 37 miles and 3,100 feet of ascent. Next step is going to be 50 miles and ~ 3,800 feet of ascent. Stay tuned.
