Swiss Absinthe: The real deal

I just returned from a visit in Switzerland and a friend of mine gifted me something that had been quite controversial for most of the 20th century. He sent me home with a bottle of genuine Absinthe from Val-de-Travers. A couple of years ago, I had tried the beverage since it was made legal again. Being a big fan of pastis and all things licroice and anis flavored, it felt like a natural thing to explore. I did not particularly enjoy it. I found it to be somewhat bitter and too herbal tasting.
This brand is supposed to be quite the original stuff, so I’m really looking forward to give Absinthe another try. I’ll post an update with my impressions.
